COMPUTER TUTORS - A UNIQUE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS PROJECT
Several years ago, Pat Shores  had an idea that members who had skills with computers could help other members wishing to learn how to do more with their computers.   Members would pay $15 for each hourr of help, and that money would go directly to the Dollars for Scholars donation fund.  The idea was an instant success!  Now  there are  5 members who give help - and many "satisfied customers".  Several hundred dollars each year has gone to Dollars for Scholars.  Tutors are "on call" at Meramec Bluffs Senior Residences to give assistance also.
Pat Shores (Left) and Joyce Katz, both tutors in the project, met recently at Pat's home to study functions of Excel.  Pat helped Joyce learn about filters, and showed off her new Vista operating system.  Joyce is the Technology Chair for the branch.  Pat has served as treasurer for 2 years, and is now co-President.
Member Cecelia McFadden flashes a big smile after she has organized her documents and pictures for easy access.  Shown on the screen is her adorable English Bull - now easily found in the folder she created, "doggie pictures".  Joyce Katz came to Cecelia's home and worked with her on organizing files.  Cecelia is currently serving the branch as EF Co-Chair.
