AAUW BALLWIN-CHESTERFIELD BRANCH OUR INTEREST GROUPS
|
Our Special Interest Groups bring members together in small-group settings to enjoy an activity in which a
mutual interest or skill is shared. The focus of these groups is primarily social, and the friendships and
contacts formed help to make our Branch membership a most cordial and cohesive unit. There are 8 Bridge
groups, a Scrabble group, 5 literature groups, a movie discussion group, 2 play reading groups, a golf group, a
stitchery group, and a group for creative expression.
Out-To-Lunch (left) is just that: a chance for members and guests
to get better acquainted in a more intimate setting than a meeting
or project. It's a fun way to try new eating places, and to enjoy
pleasant company. The Brick House Pub & Grill was the prefect
place to lunch on a cold January Day in front of a cozy fire. Seen
were (from top, L to R) Pat Shores & Pam Valentine; Pat Corich &
Joahn Wendt; Julie Triplett & Judy Dawson; Jayne Kasten, Susan
Haynes & The group's sponsor is Harriett Hirschfeld (upper left).
This collage was created by Pat Corich (in hat.)
Bridge V (left) meets once each month.

distributed to the veterans and used as decorations for their facility. The following members created beautiful valentines:
Becky Kruse, Jill Norton, Joan Lunt, Carol Derrington, Rosann Swaringim, Willeyne Berger, Rita Hawkins and Joan Reed. In
a two hour time period, seventy-five valentines were made!
